Audi’s popular compact SUV, the Audi Q5, enters its third generation with a clean-sheet design, offering more tech, more power, and a stylish new look.

Beginning with its exterior styling, the 2025 Q5 is stunning. In addition to a strikingly sculpted design, new digital OLED taillights and matrix-design LED headlights allow up to eight different lighting signatures to be displayed when locking or unlocking the vehicle. There are new wheel designs to choose from as well, ranging in size from 19 to 20 inches. The latter comes standard when equipping the Q5 with the S Line package, which further enhances the exterior with S Line bumpers and black exterior trim.

You can also opt for the Q5 as a Sportback, featuring a sleek roofline akin to a sporty sedan.

On the inside, the 2025 Q5’s dashboard consists of a wraparound virtual cockpit that incorporates driver instrumentation and an infotainment touchscreen measuring 14.9 inches diagonally. A 10.9-inch touchscreen allows the front passenger to quickly change media settings or watch videos.

The driver’s attention won’t be diverted, as the updated head-up display (HUD) uses augmented reality to show turn-by-turn navigation directions and key driving parameters, such as the distance to the vehicle ahead and lane markings when the system detects a potential lane departure.

In terms of space, the 2025 Q5 remains relatively unchanged compared to the outgoing model. Headroom and legroom across both rows remain plentiful for kids and adults, with the second row offering tilting and sliding seats.

On the move, the 2025 Q5 retains its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine but gains additional power, now producing 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a slick-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in around six seconds—on par with competitors from Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Power is sent to all four wheels via Audi’s Quattro system, and throttle response feels more immediate thanks to the addition of a mild-hybrid system.

Around corners, the 2025 Q5 is an agile SUV. Set the drive mode to Dynamic and the vehicle feels planted on winding mountain roads, with sharp and precise steering feedback. Opt for the Technik trim and it can be equipped with adaptive air suspension for improved body control in corners and a more comfortable ride during daily commutes.

If you’re looking for even more performance, the Q5 is also available in the sportier SQ5 trim. This model uses a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine that also receives a power bump over the previous generation, producing 362 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. The SQ5 boasts the same great styling as the Q5, is available as a Sportback, and comes standard with air suspension for a comfortable yet capable ride.

With a starting price of $58,700 for the Q5 and $78,700 for the SQ5, Audi’s updated crossover is poised to be a hit among those seeking a technologically advanced SUV with head-turning looks. Stop by OpenRoad Audi Boundary to learn more or to take a test drive.
