2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC

The GLC has long been a central pillar of the Mercedes-Benz SUV lineup for Canadian drivers. With the introduction of an all-new electric model alongside its gasoline counterpart, the GLC marks a new milestone that combines its established reputation with the latest electric platform from Stuttgart, Germany.

The electric GLC’s exterior merges sleek luxury with subtle futurism. A gently sloping silhouette is framed by a wide front fascia and an upright heritage-inspired grille illuminated by 942 LED pixels. Full-LED headlamps blend into the bodywork, while subtle sculpting along the side and flush door handles sharpen the profile and reduce drag. At the rear, full-width taillights and a closed-off bumper reinforce the SUV's electric design, giving it a clean, modern look.

Inside, Mercedes-Benz gives the electric GLC a bold tech-centric interior dominated by a 39.1-inch Hyperscreen that flows across the dash. Behind it lies MB.OS, a next-generation software platform that powers the latest infotainment with AI assistance, over-the-air updates and deeply integrated navigation and media that always stays connected. Ambient lighting, dual wireless charging pads and the optional Sky Control glass roof with 162 configurable illuminated stars turn the cabin into a customizable digital lounge for the driver and passengers.

Underpinning the experience is a dedicated electric powertrain designed for both performance and long-distance capability. At launch, the dual-motor electric GLC 400 4MATIC produces 483 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 4.3 seconds, aided by a two-speed rear gearbox that optimizes both acceleration and highway cruising efficiency. European testing suggests a driving range exceeding 640 kilometres, while an 800-volt architecture enables fast charging that recovers 300 kilometres of range in about 10 minutes.

Complete specifications and pricing for the Canadian market will be shared ahead of the launch later this year. What is clear now is that the electric GLC delivers a vital technological foundation for the brand, as it charts a new path for electrified luxury transportation.
